It may not have the same name recognition as some of the internationally renowned wine regions nearby, but Northern California‘s Suisun Valley is quickly becoming an area that oenophiles may want to pay attention to.
Those as interested in growing grapes as they are in drinking their boozy byproduct might take a liking to a $55 million Fairfield spread that covers 125 rolling acres, with 68 of those planted with Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot vines. The seller is Frank Vezér, the owner of Vezér Family Vineyards and a Formula 4 race-car driver. Spencer Daley at Douglas Elliman and Carmen and Peter Gray at Vintage Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.

The centerpiece of the estate is the vineyards and their accompanying wine-making accoutrements. Along with the grapes, the viticultural spread comes with two winery production licenses and a fully equipped wine production facility. There are three bonded barrel rooms, two preexisting tasting rooms, and one partially constructed tasting room and restaurant that the new owner could complete to their liking.
While the expansive acreage has the potential for a trophy compound or even a boutique hotel, there are already several homes already standing. In total, across all the residential spaces, there are a whopping 20 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. There are two pools, plus a tennis court, and two of the homes have vacation rental/bed & breakfast permits, according to marketing details.

The main residence is done up with soaring wood-beam ceilings and stone-framed fireplaces, includig in the billiards room and the primary suite. There’s a large patio for outdoor entertaining, a pool, and a wine cellar, of course. A nearby lake includes yet another option for water-based activities. Elsewhere, a slightly smaller abode has been dubbed “Chateau Jaune,” thanks to its bright-yellow paint job.
Vezér and his family moved to the Suisun Valley back in 1989, and they started making wine in 2001. His clan’s property is just one of California’s nearly 5,000 operational wineries to come up for sale in recent months. In April, after having trouble selling on the open market, two former producers for American Idol decided to auction off their vineyard estate in Paso Robles.
