After four seasons with the Michigan Wolverines, guard Jordan Hobbs is taking her talents to Seattle after being drafted by the Storm in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Hobbs is the ninth player in program history to be drafted into the WNBA and the third player to be drafted under Kim Barnes Arico, joining Naz Hillmon and Leigha Brown.

In the whirlwind world of the transfer portal, Hobbs stayed the course and got better every season with the Wolverines, developing as a role player before becoming a go-to scorer and starting every game in her last two seasons.

As a senior, she averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. Her best performance came when the lights were brightest, with Hobbs scoring a career-high 28 points in Michigan’s Round of 64 win over Iowa State.

Hobbs was a bona fide winner with the Wolverines. She leaves Michigan as one of just five players in program history to make the NCAA Tournament four times. She also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors three times, majoring in business administration in the Ross School of Business.

On a team with three freshmen in the starting lineup, Hobbs stepped up as a leader in the program. Her and Greta Kampschroeder played key roles both on and off the court.

“We definitely are a family, we spend so much time around each other,” Hobbs said at Big Ten Media Day before the season started. “Hangout outside of basketball even and doing things off the court, and we know that when we step in between those lines that we’re going to compete, and we’re not going to take it personally but we’re going to go at each other every day because that’s how you’re going to get better. But once we step out of those lines, you know, we go back to being a family and we love each other so much and that’s kind of the culture that Michigan has been built on for years. We learned it from our leaders before us and continue to try to bring that to the team today.”

Hobbs was always gracious with her time when it came to talking with the media, always giving honest answers after wins and losses. We at Maize n Brew wish her the best of luck, and look forward to watching her in the WNBA.
